Karjalan kielen livvin murteen sanakirja

Suomi-Karjala- sanakirja

Hain perjantaina (28.05.21) postiautomaatista Suomi-Karjala-sanakirjan. Karjalan kielen kielioppia en ole vielä saanut, vaikka tilasin sen pari viikkoa aiemmin kuin sanakirjan Karjalan Sivistysseuralta. Pelkän sanakirjan ja internetin avulla yritin sitten kirjoittaa karjalaksi, mutta virheitä alla olevassa värssyssäni on. Tässä vaiheessa virheellisyyden aistii, mutta minulla ole virheiden korjaamiseen tarvittavaa tietotaitoa.

Karjalan kieli

Karjala on uralilainen kieli, joka kuuluu suomalais-ugrilaisten kielten itämerensuomalaisten kielten pohjoisryhmään. Se on suomen läheisin sukukieli inkeroisen ohella.[2][3] Karjalan kaikkien murteiden puhujia arvioidaan olevan yhteensä noin 60 000 – 95 000,[4] joten se on puhujamäärältään itämerensuomalaisista kielistä suomen ja viron jälkeen kolmanneksi suurin.

Blowing in the Wind

Blowing in the Wind

An older man laid down on his bed. He suffered from the heat of summer in the old hospital that missed the air-condition. The pavement went just along the side of the wooden house, and voices from the street came indoors to the first floor where the man spent the last moments of his life. This evening was a more restless night than usual because of Midsummer eve.

Now and then, some people stopped under the window and changed news. Nurses went immediately to the window and asked people to leave because they were disturbing the palliative care patients. The older man was alone in the room and didn’t get annoyed when he heard people’s voices. They made him forget his situation, but he didn’t forbid nurses to do their job.

Around nine p.m., some youngsters parked under the window. One of them has a guitar, and he or she played it well. Again one of the nurses ran to the window to make people away. Then the older man said:

”Let them be there. Youngster’s talk makes me feel happy.”

The nurse was uncertain. The patient’s wish was odd, and she was afraid of getting reproaches from the chief nurse if she is let people make noises outdoors. She went out of the room to consult her boss. She was surprised when Mrs. Clayton said: ”You can fulfill the man’s wish because he is alone in the room, and upstairs is also empty.”

When she got back to the patient room, the youngster has become louder, but Mr. Smith was smiling. The nurse, Mrs. Kind, informed his patient what Clayton told her. The evening went on, and the youngsters were singing now—some reason they like to sing old folk songs from the sixties. When the nurse Kind came to see him at ten o’clock, he asked:

”Could you ask them to sing Bob Dylan’s song from the sixties?” She did what the patient asked.

At eleven o’clock, when she came to see Mr. Smith once more, she heard the youngsters were singing ”Blowing in the wind.” The older man has a smiling face and teardrop on his cheek. Mrs. Kind didn’t feel the pulse on her patient’s warm wrist. She walked to the window and said:

”Thank you.”

The young people looked surprised, and the guitar player said:

”Why”?

”Heaven knows,” replied the nurse.

Esperanto/Grammar Rules

Esperanto is a constructed language intended to be used for neutral international communication. Esperanto is spoken around the world and has about 2 million speakers. There are 16 basic rules of Esperanto grammar, established by its founder, L.L. Zamenhof:

  1. There is no indefinite article (English a, an); there is only a definite article la, alike for all genders, cases and numbers (English the). The use of the article is as in other languages. People for whom use of the article offers difficulties (e.g. speakers of Russian, Chinese, etc.) may at first elect not to use it at all.
  2. Nouns have the ending -o. To form the plural, add the ending -j. There are only two cases: nominative and accusative; the latter can be obtained from the nominative by adding the ending -n. The other cases are expressed with the aid of prepositions (genitive by de (English of), dative by al (English to), ablative by per (English by means of) or other prepositions, according to meaning).
  3. Adjectives end in -a. Cases and numbers are as for nouns. The comparative is made with the word pli (English more), the superlative with plej (English most); for the comparative the conjunction ol (English than) is used.
  4. The basic numerals (not declined) are: unu, du, tri, kvar, kvin, ses, sep, ok, naŭ, dek, cent, mil (English one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, hundred, thousand). Tens and hundreds are formed by simple juxtaposition of the numerals. To show ordinal numbers we add the adjective ending; for multiples, the suffix -obl; for fractions (actually, reciprocals), -on; for collectives, -op; for divisionals, the word (particle) po. Noun and adverb numerals can also be used.
  5. Personal pronouns: mi, vi, li, ŝi, ĝi (for an object or animal), si, ni, vi, ili, oni (English I, you, he, she, it, oneself, we, you, they, they-one-people); the possessive pronouns are formed by addition of the adjective ending. Declension is as for nouns.
  6. The verb does not change for person or number. Forms of the verb: present time takes the ending -as; past time, -is; future time, -os; conditional mood, -us; command mood, -u; infinitive mood, -i. Participles (with adjectival or adverbial meaning): present active, -ant; past active, -int; future active, -ont; present passive, -at; past passive, -it; future passive, -ot. All forms of the passive are formed with the aid of the corresponding form of the verb esti (English to be) and the passive participle of the required verb; the preposition with the passive is de (English by).
  7. Adverbs can be formed from adjectives by changing the -a ending to an -e ending (like English -ly).
  8. All prepositions take the nominative.
  9. Every word is read as it is written.
  10. The accent always falls on the next-to-last syllable (vowel).
  11. Compound words are formed by simple juxtaposition of words (the main word stands at the end); the grammatical endings are also viewed as independent words.
  12. When another negative word is present, the word ne (English no, not) is omitted.
  13. To show direction, words take the accusative ending.
  14. Every preposition has a definite and permanent meaning, but if we have to use a preposition and the direct meaning doesn’t tell us what preposition we should take, then we use the preposition je, which has no independent meaning. Instead of je the accusative without a preposition may be used.
  15. The so-called foreign words, i.e. those taken by the majority of languages from one source, are used in Esperanto without change, taking on only the orthography of this language; but for different words from a single root it is better to use without change only the basic word, and form the rest from this latter according to the rules of Esperanto.
  16. The final vowel of the noun and the article may be dropped and replaced by an apostrophe (without effect on stress).

    Kolmas persoona latinan ja ’latino sine flexione’ -kielissä

    Nyt kun olen jonkin verran tutustunut latinaan, interlinguaan ja esperantoon, huomaan olevani tyytymätön joihinkin piirteisiin. Yksi päänsäryn aihe on ollut personapronomien yksikön ja monikon kolmas persoona. Se tuntuu kömpelöltä. Latino sine flexione –kieli, jota kutsutaan kehittäjänsä Peanon mukaan Peanon interlingua, ei anna ongelmaan helpotusta. Se ehdottaa:

    6. Prounouns Personal

    •me = I, me.
    •te = thou, thee.
    •illo = he, she, it, him, her.
    •nos = we, us
    •vos = you.
    •illos = they, them.
    •id = it.

    Feminine forms may be used:

    •illa = she, her.
    •illas = they, them

    Ratkaisu interlinguassa on saman suuntainen.

    Niin hullulta kuin se joidenkin mielestä saattaa kuulostaa, olen alkanut hahmottaa omaa ratkaisua pronominien kolmannelle persoonalle. Samaa saatan tehdä muidenkin korvissa rumasti soiviin ongelmiin. Lopputulos tullee olemaan jotain latinan ja latino sine flexionen väliltä Homma voi jäädä kesken, kun innostus tai voimat loppuvat, ehkä molempia.

    Personapronomini Akkusatiivi Omistusmuoto Englanniksi

    id id idus it, it, its

    Monikko on vielä harkinnan alla. Yllä olevatkin ratkaisut saattavat vielä muuttua, mutta varmasti jotakin niistä jää mahdolliseen lopulliseen kieleeni. Mietin vähän sitä, että voinko käyttää ius -sanaa, kun se tarkoittaa klassisessa latinassa lakia. Latino sine flexionen ratkaisu substantiivien kohdalla on se, että ne johdetaan sanan yksikön ablatiivista, jolloin laki-sana saa muodon iudicio.

    Muutamia lauseita näillä tiedoilla, kun vielä tässä vaiheessa taivutan verbejä, kuten latinassa. Peano ehdottaa, etteivät verbit taivu persoonan mukaan.

    • Mi amabam eam, sed ea destituit me. = Minä rakastin häntä, mutta hän on hylännyt minut.

    • Id erat indusio. = Se on hänen (feminiini) mekko.

    • Iure est idem ad omne, solum iudicios variant. = Laki on kaikille sama, vain tuomiot vaihtelevat.

    Latino sine flexionen monikko muodostetaan lisäämällä monikon s -tunnus sanan loppuun.

    • Iudicio = tuomio

    • iudicios = tuomiot, tuomioita jne.

    • Indusio -sanan klassisen latinan yksikön nominatiivi on indusium => Ea amat indusios. = Hänetär rakastaa mekkoja.

    Ode to Bill Gates … from My Wife

    Hi Bill,
    Sorry to bother you.

    I’m sitting here writing a letter to you because my wife doesn’t stop nagging – and between you and me – isn’t willing to go to bed before I thank you. You can only guess how hard it is to thank a man whose computer operating system constantly requires updates, and I must wait for them to be completed. Sometimes even the deadline for the translation text has been exceeded. After getting free from the fucking that haunted me in the early years, I started to draw pictures to make the waiting time go faster. When the Windows system was engaged in a contradictory internal dialogue, my old drawing skills from my youth returned. And in the long run, I have become an outstanding painter. Yes, during the 20 years you have time to get Windows better and I have to creativeness.

    A year ago, encouraged by my wife, I held a visual art exhibition on Helsinki Boulevard in the famous photo gallery. The miracle that I got there. My show was a success, and my painting sold out at the incredible starting prices my wife charged them. She, a prominent, comforted me before the show: prices can always drop but hardly ever raise under the buyer’s beak. I agreed, considering myself a modern wise man who can guide his wife without her even realizes this. Who would buy my painting at astronomical sums? Wrong again.

    What bothers me most, however, is that while we have been able to get our household on a more solid footing thanks to the income from painting sales, I have not received praise from my wife, but I have to thank you. She says that I couldn’t eat chewing gum and walk simultaneously before I got acquainted with Windows and adds that now I remember all the assignments and carry out the translation work in time even though I had heard it the night before.

    This is how I will thank you and send the most valuable painting of my exhibition to you. Even before the show, my wife had decided to leave the picture with the highest offered price for you. Can you imagine hugs from my wife to you and painting from me?
