Next Saturday is My Birthday, and I Like to Give You a Gift

Next Saturday (March 11) is my birthday. That’s why I want to give you something to thank you for visiting my site. At least some of you have wondered how I make my kaleidoscopes. Therefore, I will reveal it to you one way. First, there must be a drawing, the raw print I always make manually. After that, edit the drawing in Gimp, a free image editing program. Still, it is possible to create good kaleidoscopes even from a picture drawn with a pen.

Below is a drawing of the starting point this time. I have added different layers to the bottom part in Gimp.

2023-03-07 Urheilumylly 02a E11

Then I started running ornaments from the drawing using free G’Mic add-on available for Gimp. Then I started running ornaments from the drawing using the G’Mic add-on available for Gimp. On the GIF presentation, you can browse some of the examples.

Birthday

Here is a YouTube video on G’Mic to Gimp

This is the path how you’ll find the Kaleidoscope tool:
Filter-menu (or whatever menu where you G’Mic is)/G’Mic-QT/Deformations/Kaleidoscope

Note that the add-on doesn’t work before you open the picture file.

Help Yourself Is the Best Policy to Learn

I am sure you will understand that I cannot give everyone a piece of personal advice. If you are interested in manipulating pictures, you must be very patient and learn things at your own pace.

Please let me know which of the examples most pleases you. When I know your favorite one, I will upload it here so you can download it yourself. You are free to use my drawing and test what kind of ornaments you get with the help of the G’Mic add-on.

If You Want to Give Me a Present

Please watch the video below if you want to give me a present. I am singing my first recorded song with accompanying myself with the guitar.

Experienced in these years

Listen to: http://youtu.be/aZrRBb7rAlg14

Too much, I have experienced in these years,
Too many are those who owe me tears.
I remember that gray platform
Where the rain carried a friend.

Refrain:

Then do not bloom
My dear apple trees,
Neither anyone whispered in my ear:
Darling, do not forget me.

Never I have been afraid
Yet on this trip until tomorrow.
Little boy has avoided the dangers
side by side the kind woman reflection.

The refrain

I know mothers weeping eyelids
Do not explain the words out loud,
They just give their love for guidance
and prayers for protection.

The final two times:

Now bloom my dear
Sacred apple trees.
They have the heavenly scent,
The fragrance that never go away.

Music and Lyrics by Ilkka Pakarinen 1982,
record out in 1983.

Some Phrases in Interlingua and English with the Interesting Video

Is the Interlingua the lingua universalis for the future?

My memory has been feeble for as long as I can remember. Because of that, I made a lot of notes and tables. It is a very time assuming way to work, but I don’t have any other choice. I have thought that perhaps my efforts would also help others with better memory and more years ahead. I usually collect sayings that are important to me or difficult to remember. These phrases are mainly from the Interlingua textbooks. Please try to translate sentences from Interlingua into English. The third column of the table is for your language. You can download this table with the English language column in PDF format athttps://www.yellingrosa.com/Opetus/Phrases-Interlingua-Anglese 02.pdf

The Beginning Is the End

I came near the wet cave,
The velvet of nature.
Soft walls absorbed me.
I heard voices screaming,
But didn’t understand them
In the train of flashing
light.

2023-02-08 The Ido Language

Dear readers, I want to introduce you to the artificial language IDO.
In this way, Wikipedia describes the IDO language.

Ido (/ˈiːdoʊ/) is a constructed language derived from Reformed Esperanto, and similarly designed with the goal of being a universal second language for people of diverse backgrounds. To function as an effective international auxiliary language, Ido was specifically designed to be grammatically, orthographically, and lexicographically regular (and, above all, easy to learn and use). It is the most successful of the many Esperanto derivatives, called Esperantidoj.

You’ll find the rest of this article at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ido

How Does Ido Sound

An Ido user named Pauline Auster has made a video where she reads Pauline Couturat’s poem, Autumn. Autumno in Ido.

Beyond the Dark River

I had already crossed the dark river.
I don’t feel blue or grey.
Unlike in the world of the living
Nobody can doubt my right
To exist anymore.
Dead has invited
us to this world.

One More Push

One More Push © Yelling Rosa

One More Push

My mind is tired of thinking
what does this all mean?
Realities have many faces
and they speak different languages;
mostly in languages,
that nobody understands
not me, at least.

Shall I still ascend
like a Phoenix bird from the ashes
or shall I lie down in the firing?
Older people think
even such efforts.
When life itself has changed
to extra effort, one more push
is heavy to carry,
even with brave wings.

The English-Interlingua-English Translator

Some time ago, I found an English-Interlingua-English Translator on the Internet. Please use it to translate text into English,
https://www.stars21.com/translator/interlingua/english/

The translator is not perfect and makes fewer mistakes when you write the text in row, like: Papilion matinal incontra mi facie e face me sentir le agitation de alas minuscule.

PS I’m sorry for the grammar mistake: The 3rd line of the Interlingua version must be ”e face me sentir.”

Fossils are Lovely

Some people may be shocked by fossils. I think they are lovely. Some lizards lived before the dinosaurs and knew how to write. In addition to the animal, the rock contains its message for posterity; see the picture below.

Wow, this creature even knew to predict the arrival of Christmas in the world.
